On the successful completion of the Nursing program, as a graduate nurse, you will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge gained in physical, biological, and behavioral sciences, medicine including alternative systems.
  • Provide quality nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and other related factors, which affect health of individuals and groups.
  • Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care. Utilize the latest trends and technology to offer the best healthcare possible.
  • Provide pro-motive, preventive, and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.
  • Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct, and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals & groups, and members of the healthcare team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate teaching skills to individuals and groups in clinical/community health settings.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical/community health settings.
  • Conduct need-based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care.
  • Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.
  • B.Sc. Nursing graduates are qualified to work as registered nurses in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, multi-level care facilities, community agencies (home care, public health) as well as psychiatric or mental health.
  • There is ample opportunity for fresh graduates to start their career in the teaching profession, which will help them to specialize themselves in future Master programs. Students can go for their Masters programs as well as for Ph.D programs.
  • They can become public health nurses/health worker in government/private clinics and health departments in urban and rural areas to provide basic medical services to the local population.
